One of implementations of our novel proprietary axial-flux coreless technology (patents pending) is a line "Kite" of frameless slim self-ventilated machines for applications where high power-to-weight ratio is critical.

The electric machine is made as a "sandwich" consisting of 2 rigid permanent magnets rotor disks mechanically connected each other and an interposed solid stator plate secured in the customer device, using an over-mold mounting ring.

"Kite" motors / generators are recommended for high-speed applications (e.g coupled with gear-box) to perform extremely high power to weight ratio (more than 6 kW/kg) and efficiency up to 97%. Nevertheless, if need, they can be used in direct drives at speeds typically down to 1,200 rpm (to keep self-ventilation). A forced stator cooling significantly increases the torque ability and makes it possible to work at about zero speed.

A feature of these motors is absolute no cogging and as result true silence and smooth operation at any speed.
Another feature is very small inductance. This leads to extremely low internal impedance – important advantage in generation mode. An optional rotor position sensor is supplied on demand.
